When I wrote last week about:
“Life (God) throws at you only what you can handle”.
And
“Taking small stepping stones”
I realised invertedly that I had so much to share, it was probably going to be too much in one week. My soapbox (my blog – forty years ago I’d be standing on a box in Hyde Park!) is merely a perspective, yet I am keen to share my experiences in the hope they reach those who need it. Last week’s blog is here: Rethinking Mental Health with Your Heart & Soul – Community Retreats and I continue down the garden path again, this time with a nudge or two!
This path isn’t for all, nor is it a walk in the park (though a walk in the park will help considerably with your mental health). Our system has seemingly two prescribed methods for dealing with mental health: pill popping and talk therapies. Now I am not going to comment on either, merely say that there are many more ways to tackle mental health. Without pharma and without waiting years to talk to someone.
Yes, time for another plug. My book £14.50 plus postage. So, for this marvellous price, you can have all the know-how one might need (and the light codes) all in one place.
Plug time 😊: Charlie’s Book – Healing Me So My Children Can Be – The Dark Night of the Soul – Community Retreats. Please do consider buying direct – Amazon take a greedy 60% and I am a single parent trying to make ends meet. By buying direct I receive a reasonable income per book which makes it all viable.
The chapters are short and I have even had feedback from those who don’t like reading or are dyslexic and struggle with words on a page, that it’s readable. If you find yourself scoffing at the content or chucking it at the wall, it also too is achieving its aim or offering you the triggers to address.
One you’ve got your trigger (yes, I am well aware I wind people up at times) – what do you do with them? In short? Go within. We have been programmed to seek all our answers at the end of an electronic device. And whose saying they are right? The education system is a programming machine. The movie sets programming machines. It’s all around us. Telling us how we should eat, think, feel, do etc. Make your own mind up – that’s where the incongruence lies in the division between what our head is telling we ought to and where our hearts would like us to follow.
Where do you start with all of this? Well, I offer one starting point: Healing: Where do I start? – Community Retreats. Still minds, the ability to forgive including self-forgiveness and the ability to recognise, identify and release surfacing emotion.
Then, whilst it might feel like wading through mud at times, these aspects come in handy. Firstly, the ability to determine your truth and the collective truth. I offer a distinction between the two. In a fear-based society, there is right and wrong (ignore the legal system, it’s an utter contrary mess). In a heart-based society there is perspective and more than one perspective can be right and can be wrong – it isn’t about the right and wrong, it’s about understanding each other and coming from a place of compassion. In addition to your perspective, there is then collective or universal truth such as in the third dimension there is gravity.
So back to truth – your truth, if would like to read more, here you go: Discernment & Truth – Community Retreats. What I will caveat is that with this path, it can feel like walking a tightrope. Perhaps one of the most regular questions I get is “how do you know?” – apart from saying I just know (intuitively as Claircognisant), I endeavour to steer clear of rabbit holes (more fear) and trust the process. But in case you get stuck like Alice, here’s a little more support: Illusion & Finding Your Way Through – Community Retreats
As you go along this path, building resilience is key. So What’s In Your Spiritual Toolbox? – Community Retreats. There’s probably a lot more than you think. Even having the ability to say no, take time out and pause, steady yourself is resilience. Even a healthy organic diet is resilience. Even knowing things might need to change is the door ajar to a brighter future.
I hope this blog finds you well and if you having a challenging time, remember
“This too shall pass”
